How to put on fishing line other tackle

As we mention many times previously, the fishing line is a most important part of any tackle, because it is a link between all parts of equipment.

Furthermore, some basic reels are on sale with fishing line and you don't need to worry at all. Nevertheless it is better to know how to do it. The simplest way to do it is to use Arbor knot, which is designed for these purposes.

Just before the start, you should think (actually you always should think) what should you do first. The simplest way is to attach reel to the rod and only after this put on fishing line. Pass the line trough rod rings and tie it to the reel by arbor knot.

How to make Arbor knot, see the picture:

  1. Pass the line one or to times around the reel spool.
  2. Tie an overhand knot arround the standing fishing line.
  3. Tie one more overhand knot on the tag end of the fishing line.
  4. Pull the line to make all overhand knots tight and cut of the excess of the line.
  5. Snug down the first overhand knot as close as possible to the reel spool.
  6. wind your reel to fill it with the fishing line.
